
Our Historic Pavilion is an ideal location to host your special event. Whether you're looking to have a quaint wedding with beautiful island views, impress conference delegates with a unique short adventure, or host a fun-filled family reunion, our facilities will meet your needs. The pavilion features a small stage, a 2700 sq. ft. sprung dance floor space, 1930's era lighting, open-air shutters, a rustic open ceiling and washroom facilities.
Newcastle Island also offers a full catering service for all your special events. Our catering department can provide delicious food and excellent service for up to 250 people.

Historic Pavilion Rental Information
Fees
* Rental: $350 plus GST **Rental fee is under review. All renters will be subject to "current" fees at time of use.
* Set-up/Take-down (table & chairs): $100 (or do it yourself!)
* Hall Clean-up: $200 (or do it yourself)
* Transport chairs to and from ceremony site: $35/lot (lot=25 chairs)
* Deposit due: To secure your booking, 50% of your total bill is due upon booking.
* Balance due: On the day of your event.
* Cancellation:
• 90 days notice or more: 70% refund of deposit
• Less than 90 days notice: no refund of deposit
* All cheques payable to "Snuneymuxw First Nation".
Facilities and Services
* All food & beverage services must be supplied by Newcastle Island Pavilion staff.
* Your rental agreement includes the hall and the verandah. The shelter behind the pavilion may be rented for an additional $50 per day. The hall measures 20 metres by 12 metres (68 ft x 40 ft) and has a small stage.
* There is no stage lighting or sound equipment available, you may supply your own.
* Inside the pavilion we supply up to 200 metal chairs and 30 rectangular tables (seat max 10 people each). Maximum capacity of the hall is 250 people.
* There are public washrooms inside the building as well as in the adjacent building.

Access
* A permit is required to have a public outdoor event in the park (including wedding ceremonies). Please provide to us at (250) 754-7893 the date, specific location in the park and number of guests.
* The hall is available at 9:00am the morning of your event for decorating. If you require the hall prior to this, cost is a 1/2 day rental fee for access after 4:00pm the day prior, or a full day rental for access before 4:00pm the day prior.
* The hall must be cleaned and vacated by 10:00 the following day.
* The last scheduled ferry run off Newcastle is 8:45 pm. You must make special arrangements for your guests to leave the island after the last scheduled run. Please contact Nanaimo Harbour Ferry to make arrangements.
Other Information
* Music must be turned off no later than 11:00 pm (Provincial Park quiet hours).
* Smoking, candles, and open flame are prohibited inside the pavilion.
* Open liquor is not permitted in the park, and must be confined to the pavilion and verandah.
